Meet Dr. Malini Soogoor
Dr. Malini Soogoor is a highly skilled and compassionate physician specializing in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Soogoor is dedicated to providing exceptional care to her patients and improving health outcomes through her expertise in infection prevention and treatment.
After earning her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India, Dr. Soogoor completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital and Kern Medical Center, followed by a prestigious fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She is board-certified in both Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine, showcasing her commitment to excellence and staying at the forefront of medical advancements.
Dr. Soogoor has worked extensively in both hospital and private practice settings, serving patients across Southern California. She currently provides care at several esteemed institutions, including Adventist Health Simi Valley, Los Robles Hospital, and Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. In addition, she serves as the Director of Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship at Encompass Health and Rehabilitation Hospital, where she leads efforts to enhance patient safety and combat antimicrobial resistance.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Soogoor is known for her approachable and caring demeanor. She believes in building strong relationships with her patients and takes the time to listen, educate, and tailor treatment plans to meet each individual’s needs.
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Soogoor enjoys participating in community outreach programs, educating the public about infectious diseases, and contributing to the wellness of her community.

What Do We Treat
At our facility, we specialize in the treatment of a range of diseases, including HIV, urinary tract infections (UTIs), syphilis, osteomyelitis, and Valley Fever. We are committed to providing comprehensive care and will address other diseases upon referral. Our dedicated team is here to support you through every step your treatment journey. Your health is our priority.

OSTEOMYELITIS
Osteomyelitis is a bacterial bone infection, often from wounds or infections. Symptoms include pain and fever, and untreated, it can cause serious complications.

VALLEY FEVER
Valley Fever is a lung infection from the Coccidioides fungus in areas. Symptoms include cough and fever, with severe cases spreading to skin. Early diagnosis is vital for high-risk individuals.

UTI
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are bacterial infections affecting the bladder, urethra, or kidneys. Symptoms include frequent urination, burning, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, and abdominal pain.

SYPHILIS
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection from the bacterium Treponema pallidum, starting with a painless sore and potentially leading to rashes, flu-like symptoms, and complications if untreated. Early detection and antibiotic treatment are crucial.

HIV/AIDS
HIV/AIDS is a viral infection that weakens the immune system, making it harder to fight infections. Without treatment, it can progress to AIDS, a severe stage. While there’s no cure, antiretroviral therapy (ART) helps manage the condition and supports a healthy life.

UTI
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are bacterial infections affecting the bladder, urethra, or kidneys. Symptoms include frequent urination, burning, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, and abdominal pain.
